Weissdorn - Deutsches Bekennen

"Weißdorn (Axel Schlimper and Eine Deutsche Frau)- German Confession I'm listening to the complete master of this disc for the fifth time now and thinking about how I can put my thoughts down on paper. Weißdorn is a project by the two well-known singer-songwriters Axel Schlimpler and Eine Deutsche Frau. Both well-known through appearances and presence in social media. Both artists are deeply rooted in the political and ethnic movement. Therefore, as expected, the lines set to music are exclusively of a political and ideological nature. Of course, every singer-songwriter of this genre has to put up with the direct comparison to Frank Rennicke, who, as is well known, holds the bar very high in this regard. Weißdorn easily stands up to comparison and convinces with a very coherent and well-rounded result. The contrastive antiphonal vocals alone give this disc full points from my humble point of view. Some of the 15 orphans performed are sung in canon. Something like this is very rare in our area and shows the professionalism of the disc. In addition to several guitar tracks, an accordion and flute are also used in a targeted manner. Textual inspiration came from Theodor Körner, Les Brigandes, Jan Peter, Frank Rennicke and others. max v Schenkendorf). Deutsches Bekennen is a very nice ballad disc for not only quiet hours and can be recommended without hesitation. This disc is rounded off by a beautifully designed 20-page booklet" - Quote label
